Down Syndrome Education Specialist

DSAGSL offers programs that work with Education Professionals & families in an effort to provide individuals with Down syndrome the best possible education in whichever school they find is best for them.  Our mission is to be the leading resource on Down syndrome in the community, not just for families but also for educators.

We are proud to offer the Down Syndrome Education Specialist Program! This Partnership Program is a joint effort between greater St. Louis area schools, agencies, parents and the DSAGSL. The goal of the partnership is to provide support for educators, parents and professionals seeking to build a meaningful education for students with Down syndrome.


This four-part workshop is held on Friday’s throughout the school year.  The first session is held in the fall, the second and third are in the winter, and the fourth session is in the spring. This program provides 20 hours of meaningful training for educators who want to create a meaningful educational environment for their student with Down syndrome. Please encourage your child’s teachers to register for this course!

Sessions are held at DSAGSL Office, 8531 Page Ave, Suite 120, St. Louis, MO 63114.  The cost to attend is $100 and includes lunch for all four sessions. Contact for more information.


DSAGSL offers a two-day intensive Down Syndrome Education Specialist Summer Program.  Participants will spend two full days on key topics:

Down Syndrome 101, Inclusion, Adaptations, and Behavior Management

Participants will be given modules to look over  before both session to pepare for the topics.  Then during classses, participants will have the opportunity to work through questions, problems, and discuss with other professionals to create a plan for their own classroom.  Time will be spent during the program working on specific topics chosen by the participants to best serve the needs of their classrooms and students.
