DSAGSL simply could not provide the programs and services to the nearly 2000 individuals with Down syndrome in the area and their families, without the help of volunteers. DSAGSL offers several opportunities to volunteer throughout the year including special event support, as well as program help. Please feel free to browse the list of opportunities we have coming up. Helping Hands Volunteer Group
3rd Thursday Every Month 10:00-1:00 at the DSAGSL
Volunteers of ALL ABILITIES will help DSAGSL with various projects that will be used to thank donors, sponsor, and other community members that support DSAGSL throughout the year. This is a fun opportunity for both individuals with and without Down syndrome to volunteer while having fun making, crafting, and creating!
Birdies & Bass Golf Tournament
Monday, May 8 from 9am-4pm at Persimmon Woods Golf Club in Weldon Springs
Our annual golf tournament is one of our most important events of the year for raising funds to support DSAGSL programs and services. We need volunteer anglers with Down syndrome that can pair up with golfers in the morning and fish together on the beautiful lakes of PW Golf Club. We also need volunteers who can help us out at contest holes on the course throughout the day.
Step Up for Down Syndrome
Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Forest Park
This is DSAGSL’s largest event of the year! Join 3,000 community members for fun at Forest Park including a rock climbing wall, bounce houses, live entertainment, petting zoo, games, food, and so much more. We simply could not have this event without the help of our volunteers!
Run for 21
Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Forest Park from 7:30-9:30am
This 5k (plus a little extra) is a 3.21 mile race that takes place right before Step Up for Down Syndrome. We need course marshals to help ensure our runners stay safe on the course.
New Family Brunch

Each year, DSAGSL invites new families to enjoy brunch together, network, and hear from a few guest speakers. To ensure that our families can make it to this important event, we offer child care for their baby with Down syndrome (under 1 year of age) and their siblings (all ages). Masks will be required for this volunteer opportunity due to the vulnerability of our population at this very young age. Sign up below or email Abigail@dsagsl.org.
