Step Up for Down Syndrome is our largest celebration and fundraising event of the year! Donations from this event allow us to provide vital and life-changing programming to over 1,800 individuals with Down syndrome and their families!
Participants of Step Up for Down Syndrome start a team and raise money to earn amazing prizes like Walk in the Ballpark tickets to see the St. Louis Cardinals!
Teams
Walk in the Park Cardinals Tickets
Perhaps the most exciting incentive for fundraising for Step Up for Down Syndrome is Walk in the Park tickets! When you raise money for Step Up, your team earns ticket packages to DSAGSL’s largest awareness event of the year called Walk in the Park. About 2,500 families and friends gather at Busch Stadium in October for a day of community, fun, and great baseball. Participants of the event enjoy a pre-game pep-rally, walking the warning track together, and then watching the baseball game.
For every $160 a Step Up team raises, they will earn one ticket package to Walk in the Park! That includes entrance the pep-rally, walking the warning track, a game ticket AND a commemorative t-shirt. Better yet, if your team raises $10,000, you’ll earn 2 VIP Ticket Packages, and raising $15,000 as a team earns you 4 VIP Ticket Packages!! VIP ticket holders will watch the game from a suite with all you can eat buffet and bar!
Need a little more motivation? The Step Up teams that raise the most money will earn a spot on the field for the Walk in the Park opening ceremonies! The more money you raise, the more incentives you earn! In addition, for every $500 you earn, you get entered to win a spot on the field even if you aren’t one of the top fundraising teams!!Â
Fundraising Ideas
Set a goal! Aim high but be realistic. Remember, every dollar stays in the St. Louis area to support your loved one and others with Down syndrome.
Spread the word with Social Media! Share your story on social media and inspire friends and family to contribute to your team! Â
Company Matching Funds- As your employer if they have a matching program and instantly double your fundraising!
Corporate Sponsors- Teams that arrange for a company or business to sponsor Step Up receive credit for the sponsorship amount!
Profit Shares- Talk with your favorite restaurant or small business to set up a profit sharing day, i.e. 20% of sales will be donated on a certain day. Then let us know you set up the fundraiser and the amount raised will count toward your team total!
There are so many ways to have fun will raising money! Check out the Team Packet for even more ideas!
