Research to know – Chromosome silencing from UMass Med School

You’ve probably heard about the research out of the University of Massachusetts that successfully silenced the extra 21st chromosome in stem cells. Whether or not this research will lead to a treatment or ‘cure’ for Down syndrome is a question that is still being answered, but we’ve come across these two opinion articles that speak for each side – might we want a cure for Down syndrome or not?
