The DSAGSL hosts and recommends educational workshops throughout the year. These workshops cover a variety of issues and concerns, ranging from early health intervention to information for transitioning to post-education adult life. We also offer a variety of health and wellness programs.

Education Specialist Program

The DSAGSL is proud to highlight our Education Specialist Program! The Down Syndrome Education Specialist Partnership Program is a joint effort between greater St. Louis area schools, agencies, parents and the DSAGSL. The goal of the partnership is to provide support for educators, parents and professionals seeking to build a meaningful education for students with Down syndrome. This FREE four-part workshop begins in September and provides 20 hours of meaningful training as well as continuing education units.

Coffee Talk Monthly Speaker Series

Our monthly Coffee Talk Speaker Series is a way for parents, caregivers and professionals to meet in an informal setting, learn about topics important to individuals with Down syndrome, ask questions and share strategies. Join us monthly on the Third Tuesday of the month at 6:00pm for Coffee Talk. Our next topic is Starting your own group home!  2013-14 Archived Coffee Talks


Community Awareness Ambassadors

Our trained parent, professional and self-advocate ambassadors are ready and willing to come present current information on Down syndrome and Ability Awareness. Contact the DSAGSL at  to schedule a speaker for your school or organization or to become a trained speaker yourself!


Our Toastmasters group is a great way to improve public speaking skills, build confidence, make friends and enhance professional skills. Teens and adults of all abilities can join our inclusive, welcoming club. Toastmasters meets the first Tuesday of every month from 4:30 – 6pm at the DSAGSL office. Come and check us out! Lydia Cox Memorial Bike Camp

We are proud to continue our partnership with the Lydia Faith Cox Family Foundation to bring you our annual Lydia Cox Memorial Bike Camp. We will not only be hosting our usual camp the first week of June at South Tech High School in Crestwood, but will be launching another camp the second week of June in Edwardsville.
