DSAGSL Workshop Series
The DSAGSL is pleased to host FREE workshops for parents, professionals and individuals with Down syndrome throughout the year. Below are the upcoming 2015-16 workshops. For more information on each event, click the name to download a flyer, or contact Andi@dsagsl.org.
September 11 – Exploring Inclusion with Kathie Snow and Parent Advocates This three hour workshop, presented by Kathie Snow, author of “Disability is Natural,” and two parent inclusion advocates, will help you explore the challenges and benefits of inclusion. Understand what inclusion really means and how to make it work for your unique child both in school and as an adult out in the community. 1-4pm @ Kirkwood Community Ctr.
September 29 – Visual Schedule Make and Take Workshop
Join Christy and Andi as they teach you how to make visual schedules for your child of any age! Learn what a visual schedule lis and why they are important for individuals with Down syndrome. Make a visual schedule for your child and take it with you. You bring your ideas for a schedule you would like to create and we will provide the supplies. Examples are morning, after school or evening routine, specific tasks like using the restroom or washing hands. 6:30 – 8pm @ DSAGSL Office.
Coffee Talk Speaker Series
Our Coffee Talk Speaker Series is a way for parents, caregivers and professionals to meet in an informal setting, learn about topics important to individuals with Down syndrome, ask questions and share strategies. Archived Coffee Talks
